The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Loretta Stammen
Loretta E. Stammen, 84, 219 E. Star Road, North Star, died March 30, 2010, at her home.
She was born Feb. 28, 1926, in North Star, to Frank and Lydia Borches Liette. On Nov. 26, 1946, she married Robert J. Stammen, who died May 26, 2008.
Surviving are six children, Jerry (Linda) Stammen, Versailles, Jim (Connie) Stammen, Piqua, Lois (Steve) Knapke, Yorkshire, Jeff (Connie) Stammen, Rossburg, Betty (Kent) Davis, North Star, and John (Christina) Stammen, St. Charles, Ill.; three sisters, Catherine Dues, St. Henry, Margie (Joe) Schmidt, Anna, and Charlene Pearson, Fort Recovery; three sisters-in-law, Clarine Liette, St. Henry, Ruth Liette, Troy, and Mary Liette, Burkettsville; a brother-in-law, Leon Hein, Celina; 24 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three sisters, Emerita Greer, Dorothy Schaefer and Rosie Hein; and four brothers, Clarence, Wilfred, Norbert and Hubert.
She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in North Star, the St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality of the church and the North Star American Legion Auxiliary.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial will be at St. Louis Cemetery in North Star.
Calling is 2-8 p.m Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
